About This Site
|
This site contains a translation of Beowulf by Lesslie Hall, Ph.D., professor of English and History in the College of William and Mary, in 1892. It is a close approximation of the book from which it was scanned, retaining the footnotes and margin notes and original section headings, along with the table of contents, glossary of proper names, list of words and phrases and their definitions, and a preface which contains a good summary of the story itself. You can begin reading the book by selecting the Beowulf Text by Section link, or select Beowulf - text only to read the main story without the footnotes and margin notes, and without the necessity of clicking through the pages one by one. Happy reading!
